Things to Do

With as much natural beauty as Fairfax has, it’s impossible not to mention the sheer plentitude of trails and recreational offerings you can experience here. Housing 504 acres of pristine habitat areas, Cascade Canyon Preserve has a 20-foot waterfall, expansive broadleaf and pine forests, miles of hiking trails, and opportunities to view hundreds of different wildlife animals. The park travels through to the adjacent White Hill Preserve, where hikers can enjoy sweeping views of the south side of Mount Tamalpais.

Those who love community events will want to attend the Fairfax Festival, known as the town’s biggest party. Held annually in the summer, this bright and lively event includes a parade, hundreds of food and drink vendors, live music on three different stages, a flea market, and a space for the kids with rides and games.
